About Convention 2025

This November, New Democrats from all corners of BC will gather in Victoria for our biennial convention — our first since we elected our record three-term majority BC NDP government.

Join us for a weekend of spirited policy discussions and training sessions as we reconnect with friends, celebrate our progress and get organized and ready for the challenges ahead.

Our 2025 Convention is taking place in-person at the Victoria Conference Centre, located at 720 Douglas Street in Victoria, BC from Friday, November 14 through Sunday, November 16.

Convention 2025 is taking place on the territory of the Lekwungen-speaking people of the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations.

Accessibility

We work hard to make BC NDP events accessible. Some of the accessible initiatives you can expect at our Convention include a scent-reduced environment, gender-neutral washrooms and digital documents that can be parsed by screen readers. In the main plenary we will offer an accessible seating section, along with ASL interpretation and captioning services.

Resolutions

Help us write the next chapter of BC NDP policy. Resolutions for consideration must be submitted no later than 5pm Pacific on September 15, 2025.

Travel & Lodging

We’re thrilled to be heading back to beautiful downtown Victoria for Convention this year. While delegates are responsible for their own accommodation, travel bookings and costs, including meals, our BC NDP convention team has negotiated rates at a number of hotels in Victoria. The deadline to book hotels and lock in these rates is October 14.

Aug 28 + Sept 4: Resolutions 101 training (virtual)
Sept 8: Delegate registration opens
Sept 15 at 5pm: Resolution submission deadline
Sept 15 at 5pm: Honourary Life Membership nominations deadline
Sept 29: Resolution prioritization survey opens
Oct 5: Resolution prioritization survey closes
Oct 9: Early bird delegate registration deadline

Oct 14: Deadline to reserve hotel rooms at Convention rates
Oct 17: Submission deadline for In Memoriam recognition
Oct 19 + Oct 28: Robert's Rules of Order Training (virtual)
Nov 14: WGRC Convention and YND Convention
Nov 14-16: Convention
Nov 15: Leader's Reception

The BC NDP Convention will kick-off with a reception on the evening of Friday, November 14, with formal convention programming beginning Saturday, November 15 and running through to midday Sunday, November 16.

In Memoriam

As we do at every BC NDP Convention, we are currently preparing a tribute to honour New Democrats we have lost since we last gathered in November 2023.

If you would like to share names of people we should include, please send a note to convention@bcndp.ca with the subject 'In Memoriam'. Submissions will be accepted until October 17.
